DON'T MISS CHRISTMAS!

DON’T MISS CHRISTMAS

Matthew 2:1-12

INTRO: I suppose most of you have heard about the banker who got locked in his safe on Friday before a 3day Christmas weekend. He missed Christmas! In this passage we find some who did the same:

THEY MISSED CHIRSTMAS

The governmental leaders like Herod missed it.

One born “King of the Jews” sounded like a threat.

   The religious leaders missed Him.

What happened to those who directed the wise men to Bethlehem?!?

The story did not fit their expectations.

The business people did not have time for Jesus.

      No room for Jesus.

      Business must come first.

How about the crowds in Bethlehem? Even though the shepherds went throughout town telling about it, there does not seem to have a rush to the manger.

SOME UNEXPECTED ONES DID NOT

The wise men made a long search and found Jesus.

The shepherds, lowly workers, came looking for him.

HOW ABOUT YOU?

Some still are threatened like Herod. Fear loosing freedom.

Some reject Jesus because He does not fit expectations.

Some are just too busy going about routine.

REMEMBER: Christmas is a celebration of Jesus and all He does. It is a celebration of forgiveness and life. It is a celebration of love and victory and peace and hope.

Don’t miss Christmas! Take time to reflect on the real meaning and celebrate the real thing. Celebrate by receiving Him. Celebrate by serving Him. Celebrate by thanking Him.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Merry Christmas to each of you.
