I'M THANKFUL FOR ...

      I'm thankful for my parents (now with the LORD) who loved me and
lived out lives of integrity. They were not perfect, but left a legacy
of honesty for my brothers and me to follow.

        My dad was a carpenter. He built a few new houses in Monette,
AR, but mostly he did remodels and repairs. I was working with him once
building some kitchen cabinets. I was about to nail in a board in the
inside of a cabinet. He saw it and stopped me. I don't remember what the
problem was, probably a knot that was too big for him. He explained that
inside the cabinets like that, he could put in inferior pieces and
inferior labor and no one would know it --- except him. For that reason,
he chose to do his best work!

        That set an example for me. Do what is right rather anyone sees
it or not! Thanks Dad, for a great lesson!

GIVE THANKS!

Psalm 92:1-5
1 It is good to give thanks to the LORD.
And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
2 To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning,
And Your faithfulness every night.
3 On an instrument of ten strings,
On the lute,
And on the harp,
With harmonious sound.
4 For You, LORD, have made me glad through Your work;
I will triumph in the works of Your hands.
5 O LORD, how great are Your works!
Your thoughts are very deep.

At this Thanksgiving season, some say they find it hard to find things
to give thanks for! Challenge: At the end of the day, look back over the
day and count the blessings! While there is trouble in our world, there
are many things to give thanks for. Count your blessings and give God
the glory!
