HE CHOSE THE NAILS

In my reading for Easter, I remembered this book that I read a few
years ago. It is by Max Lucado. The book was published in 2000 by Word
Publishers.
In his popular style, Max takes the various items around the cross
and talks about God's promise revealed in each item. Besides the nails,
he sees God's promise in the Crown of Thorns, the Soldiers' Spit, the
two Crosses, the Wine soaked Sponge, the Cross and others.
It is a book worth reading anytime, and especially as we come to the
season of celebration of the the Cross and the Empty Tomb. The book
could be used as guide for your personal devotions for two weeks.
Chapters are about 10 pages each. Also there is a well developed study
guide if a group wanted to study it together.
May God bless you as you prepare your hearts to celebrate His love.
Remember "He did it for YOU!"

BIRTHDAY + 65

That's right. Today (March 9) is my birthday. I am now officially on
Medicare!
Someone asked if I felt like I am 65. I don't know! What's it suppose
to feel like?
I do remember when I was somewhat younger thinking 65 was REAL OLD.
Now I am here, I don't feel like that. In fact the older I get the
younger you get if you are older than me!
I understand turning 65 is suppose to put you into a different
category. But since I don't know what that really is, I think I'll just
keep on being me. That I do know about!
So for all of you who are older than me, you are getting YOUNGER! And
for those who are younger, you'll be here one of these days. Its not so bad!
God bless.

CHRISTIAN BLOGGERS

Some time ago I did a survey of Christian bloggers and was asked to post
a list of bloggers on my blog. There are about 300 on the list. I have
checked and most of them have not posted the list. Rather than posting
the list I am going to try to give a link to Rick Warrens page where the
list is. So if it works, the list is here
<http://rickwarren.typepad.com/rick_warren/2007/02/christian_blogg.html> .

If this does not work, I can always go in and delete it.
I have checked out some of the blogs. Some interesting reading if you
like to browse through other blogs.
Have fun. Pastor Fred

LEPERS, MILDEW, AND MYRIAD LAWS

During the last week I have been reading in Leviticus. It gets
rather tedious reading about the laws relating to leprosy in men,
buildings, and cloth. And many laws seem to deal with areas where I would
never be tempted. So I am tempted to say, "Why read this?" Then as I
plug on, it occurs to me that one message for me is this: "God is
interested in every detail of my life."

So maybe that is the answer to our boredom as we read some of the OT
material which seems not to apply. God is indeed concerned for every
area of our life. He gave the laws for protection and provision.
Thank you God, for caring about every detail.
