Redeemed by blood!
1 Peter 1:18-21 (NKJV)
18 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like
silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from
your fathers,
19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish
and without spot.
20 He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but
was manifest in these last times for you
21 who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and
gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

Just think, God had a plan before He created the world. That included
the shed blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, to pay the penalty of my sin!
And yours! Have you accepted that payment?
Some say that Christianity is a bloody religion and they don't want
anything to do with it. It is about Jesus blood, but it is for life, not
for death. Only in Him can we have life. If we depend on our efforts, we
are destined for death-- an eternal separation from God! In Him we have
life and forgiveness! Do you have this life?

Vanity or VICTORY
Ecclesiastes 12:8; 13 (NKJV)
8 "Vanity of vanities," says the Preacher,
"All is vanity."
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
----Fear God and keep His commandments,
----For this is man's all.

The Preacher (probably Solomon) had tried many things to find
fulfillment in life. He tried business success, knowledge, popularity,
power, etc. and did not find fulfillment in any of them. His conclusion
is found in verse 8: All is vanity. But then he came to another
conclusion in verse 13. "Trust God and keep His commandments."
As we look around the world in which we live, we might well come to his
conclusion, "All is vanity" but then we consider God. When we leave Him
out of the equation, indeed, all is vanity. But when we trust God and
obey His commandments, then we can have VICTORY!
