THE GOOD SHEPHERD
TRUSTING THE SHEPHERD
John 10: 1-18; 19:28-30
INTRO: One of the greatest themes in the Bible comes from the herding of sheep. From the Shepherds Psalm (23) to the message of The Good Shepherd, we find we are likened to sheep and Jesus or God is the shepherd who cares for us. Let's consider several aspects of this:
THE GOOD SHEPHERD
He is also the door. Seemingly paradox!
He lay down His life for the sheep.
He said that no one could take it!
His authority was from the Father.
HIS PROVISION
Salvation to those who come to Him
Provisions for those who trust and follow Him
Protection for those who stay in the fold
REQUIRED RESPONSE
Come to the Savior
Accept His deliverance and forgiveness
Listen to His voice
Follow Him
Accept His provision for abundant life.
We live in unsettled times. We do not know what the future in this world holds for us. We have a choice. We can be troubled along with the world. Or we can choose to trust the Savior. We can choose to say with the PsalmistÂ… Psalm 23.
Which way will you choose today???
