LIVING BY GRACE

LIVING BY GRACE

Ephesians 2:1-10

INTRO: This is the classic passage about grace. We want to examine it and two other passages which talk about grace in different situations.

GRACE FOR SALVATION (Ephesians 2:1-10)

   Former life described: worldly lifestyle

                      Dead in sin

   But God: rich in mercy

            Because of his great love

Made us alive together with Christ

               And raised us with Christ

And seated us in heavenly places

Saved us by grace --- not works

GRACE FOR ROUTINE LIFE (Hebrews 4:14-16)

We were created for good works (Eph 2:10)

We have a great high priest

Who understands our temptation and weakness

We can draw near to Him for mercy and grace for life.

GRACE FOR CHALLENGES (Matthew 11:28-30)

To the weary and heavy laden, Jesus promises rest.

We are to be joined to Him.

He promises rest and an easy load

This comes when we are joined to Him in faith and trust.

CONCLUSION: Life brings various challenges to us. If we are joined to God through Jesus Christ, He will see us through life because of His grace and mercy. Without Him we are helpless and hopeless.
