Send it ahead!
Ecclesiastes 11:1 (NKJV)
Cast your bread upon the waters,
For you will find it after many days.

This is an OT version of the Golden Rule as recorded in Matthew 7:12: "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."
There is a current saying: "Pay it ahead". When someone does something for you and you try to repay them, they often say "Pay it ahead." They mean do something good for someone else.
But this verse and Jesus' instruction in Matthew, tells us to do good before someone does it for you. We don't have to wait for someone to do something for us, for us to do something good.
As we move through life, we will find various opportunities to do something for others. The Bible says that if we will do so, then we will receive good. That should not be the goal when we do something good, but is a result.
So I have reworded the phrase. Instead of "Pay it ahead", lets "Send it ahead."
You may have seen this in a negative way. A person may be stingy with all he has, and not express caring for anyone. When he is old, he will have no friends and no one to come to his aid in time of need.
How much better to invest your life in the life of others and then you will receive dividends all your life, as God leads others to minister to you!
So my friends, "Send it ahead!" Watch to see who you can help today!
